Reconstructed Pompeian-Style Mill Fragment 3D Model
Pompeian-style mill fragment reconstructed out of three pieces. The fragment is from the University of Reading excavations at Silchester. Small Find Number 5614. This is one of two fragments (SFs 5571 and 5614), that appear to be from the upper stone of the mill. The fragment has a curved grinding surface with internal diameter of 240 mm.There is a small area of concave wear which Allen (2012, 262) suggests is secondary use. Pompeian-style mills are not common in Roman Britain. Period 2 Post-hole 9980 Weight 1790 g Thickness 84 Further fragments (SF 5571, SF 5615) from Post-hole 9089 (9084) and Post-hole 9980.
