This is Buddha figure was created in 13th century, made of wood, red lacquer, and has a gold leaf and it originates from Burma.

The Red Laquered Buddha is part of the the collection of Asian + South East Asian works of art that were personally owned by John Young and then later donated to the John Young Museum of Art in 1999.

The John Young Museum is a learning learning complex on the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus.

“The museum is a venue for Asian-Pacific artist-in-residences, art history exhibitions, and students centered programming that promote, support, and sustain museum education initiatives for UHM and the local community.”
