This teapot is made from the red clay of Bradwell, at Bradwell Hall, Newcastle-under-Lyme. The Elers’ were one of the first makers of ‘fine pottery’ in North Staffordshire. A speaking tube was said to have connected the Bradwell pottery to Dimsdale Hall where the wares were stored.
