Roman relief medallion (patrize) depicting Iuppiter. The head is shown in profile facing left, while the chest is shown in straight view. The face is framed by a wreath of curls. A bundle of lightning and a scepter mark the sitter as Iuppiter. Drooping spike-like garlands and recumbent rosettes fill the empty spaces in the background. The depiction suggests a use in the cult of the Liber Pater. Ceramic; dm 9 cm; 2nd century AD.
