This is a rebuilt model of the Renfrew Service Station on Edmonton trail in Calgary. Built in the mid 60’s it was originally a Texaco station, and the concrete inside is dyed the original Texaco green from when they installed it.
Edmonton Trail was a busy corridor in Calgary, being the major way to head north to Edmonton before Barlow Trail was built, and long before Deerfoot trail became the main throroughfare. There were six stations in five blocks up to 16th Avenue.
For the purpose of this project we will be creating models of the stations to keep the memory requirements down, while being able to get more visual information from the scans. Our process will outlined through a series of blog posts as we develop a method for creating these from our scans of the physical locations.
