Initially designed as a multipurpose medium repulsor tank able to counter Seperatist heavy tanks such as the AAT, while remaining highly mobile, production was delayed due to technical issues relating to repulsor fields and reactor strength. The Republic was forced to rely on the much lighter TX-130 Fighter Tank and slow AT-TE for ground operations in the opening year.

After repeated trials and design tweaks, the Republic’s PK-V/5 Medium Fighter Tank finally saw action on the field and proved to be a formidable asset for Republic armored units. The vehicle was designed with modularity in mind and shipped with a number of armament options, such as AAA, Light Siege Mortars, Missile launchers and more, granting Republic commanders a great deal of flexibility.
