More model informationThis is a mouse retinal amacrine cell. Amacrine cells are responsible for regulating the connections between bipolar cells and retinal ganglion cells. There are many different types of amacrine cells. This cell is a special type that provides nitric oxide to the retina. Nitric oxide regulates the activity of synapses (cell to cell connections).
