Retopology Example: Roman Oil Lamp

Inspired by Thomas Flynn, who did this exercise two years ago, I retopologized and cleaned up a 3D scan of a Roman oil lamp.

Workflow:

1. Imported the OBJ into Blender
2. Retopologized the mesh using Quad Remesher
3. Sculpted in the wick hole to remove scan artifacts
4. Marked seams and UV unwrapped, then packed islands with UVPackmaster 2
5. Baked the diffuse, normal, and ambient occlusion maps from the high-resolution to low-resolution model using SimpleBake
6. Retouched the diffuse, normal, and AO maps in Photoshop
7. Uploaded to Sketchfab, and added a background, lighting, and post-processing effects
