Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Bronze3D Model
Our University of South Florida campus has a remarkable sculpture and monument remembering the impact and continued legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. A bronze life-size bust of Dr. King looks over a reflecting pool at the true center of the campus. A granite wall at the end of the pool has portions of the “I Have a Dream” speech inscribed along with a plaque- “INJUSTICE ANYWHERE IS A THREAT TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE” REVEREND DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR./1929-1968. Erected in 1985, and included with plaza dedication in 1995- is artist Linda Ackley’s Head of Martin Luther King on a rectangular pedestal. This project was done in an effort to digitally preserve and conserve resonant campus locations in perpetuity, and assist with any preservation needs that might arise.
