N° inventaire MDM.005.1.1

Pistolet faisant partie d’une paire de pistolets ayant appartenu à Pascal Paoli. Ces pistolets ont été fabriqués vers 1773 par John Twigg armurier à Londres. Sa signature ainsi que les poinçons d’épreuve sont apposés sur les deux armes. Dans un cartouche en argent incrusté dans le bois de la crosse figure une inscription « Paoli to Manvers ». Il s’agit du rappel du legs fait par Pascal Paoli à Charles Pierrepont (1737-1816), officier dans la Royal Navy, député du Nottinghamshire, et qui deviendra vicomte de Newark, puis comte de Manvers.
