More model informationA damaged Pictish Symbol Stone found in the foundations of St Luag’s church, Rhynie, Aberdeenshire in 1878.
This Symbol stone is now housed along with two others in a purpose built structure in Rhynie Graveyard carpark.
There are three groups of symbols on the the stone, a beast’s head which is thought to resemble otter or seal, a double-disc with Z-rod (partially truncated) and a mirror with a single-sided comb. These carving are thought to date to the 7th century AD.
