The snake and centipede were found dead on a trail by a visitor to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park on Key Largo and deposited into the Herpetology collection at the Florida Museum (UF:Herp:192995). The study is published in Ecology.
This specimen was imaged by Jaimi Gray. It was stained using a solution of 1.25% buffered-Lugol’s iodine for 6 days and scanned at Nanoscale Research Facility at the University of Florida.
