Ring of Laceration

This ring is a part of a set created for a fantasy themed game project. I like how unpolished and rough it came to be in the end. I’m not a big fan of ‘perfection’ I prefer when things are damaged, broken, wounded, they can then tell a story, you are willing to ask them questions about their origin and existance that they will never be able to answer. There is a romantic side to it, something primal even. The ring was baked and textured in Substance Painter in 2k resolution.

‘Originally part of a set of seven, each ring is set with a rare and precious gem. Gifted to dignitaries and people of importance, all seven rings ended up in the hands of influential individuals. This particular ring was bestowed upon a woman, whom the creator or the ring secretly loved. The ring looks unpolished and cumbersome, but its design is like this on purpose, it represents secret, rough feelings of love that were never reciprocated.’
