I’ve experimented with rocks again. I bought a stylized material tutorial for Substance Painter from 3Dex - it was a 20 min or so video tutorial about a stylized material with precise highlights. Although he called it “a very simple material” I probably will need to make it a few time to fully understand how it was made.
The rock was sculpted in Blender with Multires modifier, Subdivision 5 for high poly, 1 for low poly with some cleanup.
I ended up having to re-cut the UVs, since the original UV cut was not very good. But after a few bakes I managed to get an OK result. My only problem with this model at the moment is that the low poly might have been a bit too low poly, edges show everywhere so looking at this from a close distance makes it painfully ugly.
But looking from afar might pass :D
