This pot was unearthed in a grave and can be dated back to Roman period. From the beginning of Roman period, it was common to bury complete sets of vessels for food and drink in the graves with the deceased. To some extent, the funeral goods inside the grave reflect the identity and social status of the deceased. Through the use of increasing finer vessels, the vessels are furthermore a symbol for the elite to differentiate themselves, which makes the ceramic grave goods a symbol of highlighting social differences.
