Romulan D-7 "Stormbird" Battlecruiser

The everlasting D-7 Battlecruiser. This time wearing Romulan colors. Dubbed by fandom, and FASA gaming as the “V-11 Stormbird” The coloring is more like the battleship gray seen on film. The “bird” is shown very proudly. However I took some artistic license, and made it fit onto the main hull better. The re-mastered series horrible CGI had the birds head on the boom section covering a somewhat important component. Some greebles are straight out of the AMT plastic model kit, and there is lots of “chrome” ;) The Romulan emblem on the top hull was seen on some interior shots of the battlecruiser on TOS: “The Enterprise Incident”.

The reason the Romulans used Klingon D-7s was due to a very breif non-canon alliance, and technology exchange. However the real reason was because the original Bird of Prey Studio model “vanished”. Lost? Stolen? Who knows. The studio model was never seen again. FX crew had no time to build a new model. So they substituted the D-7 out of necessity.
