Description Emblem “quartered” (i.e. with decoration divided into four equal parts) with heraldic symbols of Ludovico Sforza (nicknamed “il Moro”), Duke of Milan from 1480 to 1499, son of Francesco Sforza and Bianca Maria Visconti.
In the two right quarters is represented the snake, symbol of the Visconti family.
In the two quarters left the symbol of the broom, which recalls “the enterprise of the broom”, refer to the reorganization of the Duchy made by Ludovico il Moro during his rule. In the center the lily of France, who occupied Milan in 1499.
