The RSS Island was a one off experimental warship built for the Svensberg navy during the ironclad era, in an attempt to find out if a round ship could work out. When she was completed in 2272, she was placed in the coastal thetre as her seakeeping abillities were a bit lacking and so was her speed being barely able ot make 8 knots on a good day. Her accuracy was also left wanting due to the pitching motion from the waves, and despite attempts to move the rudder back as far as possible, she could take half an hour to turn. By which time the captain became board and used the engines to turn her instead. The monitor barely seen any action and so 20 years after being built was put into a naval museum, and serves as the gift shop.
