More model informationThis pits in the North East corner of the trench yielded many flint chipped stone artefacts and C270 was sampled for ancient DNA. Two of the most interesting features revealed this season, they seem to have deliberately placed boulder stones lining the outside and for C270, also making compartments within it. Could it be a smoking pit, with a fire one side and food for smoking the other side of the stones? There is evidence of scorching on some of the stones. Excavation of this pit will be completed in 2022. Adjascent to this pit just to a few cm to the west is a similar stone lined pit C276, which dissappears under the north edge of the trench. Flint artefacts and debitage seem to have been cached inside these pits.
