“Salvage Drones, or Rustworkers as they are typically called by common folk, are some of the most common sights in the lower levels of Pillarscape. They search the depths below the city for scrap metal, either to be smelted and recycled, or for spare parts to be used for construction and simple repairs.

Rustworkers collect anything from small rivets to big chunks of sheet metal, which they stack on a pile to be extracted later by other Drones. Humans who are working, or unfortunately living, beneath the canopy of the main city, typically avoid these ghastly Drones due to their lifeless nature and disturbing, decayed exterior. Although they are capable of synthesized speech, the only vocal communication that can be heard is either orders or status reports. Needless to say, they make terrible conversational partners.”
