Upon leaving Schouwburgplein, the group headed to West-Kruiskade, one of the busiest streets of Rotterdam marking the start of the ‘Chinatown’. According to the street’s website “West Kruiskade has a cheerful us-versus-them street culture; much of daily life takes place outside”. This vibrancy and contrasts between cultures and activities is very present in the businesses facades. To capture this, the group scanned a sequence of 3 facades: KFC, an American fast food chain, Primera, a Dutch convenience store chain and Qiu Xue Cheng Praktijk, a chinese medecine and acupuncture centre.
