An aspect that is particularly difficult to 3D scan or digitise is foliage. While some trees might be captured in Google’s satellite view, others might not. S035 is a scan of chopped off tree stump, will it be captured like this on the next google satellite snapshot? Can we see the moment it was cut down? For this scan, one of the group members decided to pose while another participant art directed the shoot, trying to achieve a three dimensional ‘slit scan’ of the subject’s face.
