This is a very ancient Olive tree, probably from the XII century, the biggest one in a park full of this spectacular olive trunks. Is called in Sardinian language “sa Reina”, it means “the Queen” because she’s the most magnificent in all the “court” of the olive grow.
Located in “s’Ortu Mannu”-Villamassargia-Sardegna-Italy.
Scanned with: Sony DSC H-400 25mmf8; Honor 10 lite 13mp 26mmf1.8 handheld. 850 jpg. Summer-13~14pm, Diffuse-Normal-Occlusion-Roughness 1 x 4K. Raw scan was 20m poly, progressive decimated to 1.2 million, did’nt edit UV. I’ve done some basic cleanup in Blender (some spots with bad projection, getting rid of some artifacts, smooth vertices.)
This concept art made by mother Nature was a great opportunity to challenge myself with a complex subject in a short timeframe; since it’s a natural monument is not possible climb the trunk and capture occluded areas.
