Highly decorated Ottoman Killic saber. The curved steel blade has a distinctive T-back spine developing to a long yelman or back-edge. Gold inlaid arches at either side of the forte, with a circular cartouche inlaid in gold, and an Arabic inscription on one side of the blade running the length of the spine to the beginning of the yelman. On the reverse there is an star-shaped cartouche inlaid in gold containing a short inscription, and a short running zig-zag pattern runs along the flattened spine (gold inlay missing). Highly decorated hilt made of hammered gilt copper with characteristic lobed pommel and guard with down-turned quillons. Hilt is decorated with inlays of lozenge shaped, fluted red coral and rounds of turquoise.
