This is a 3D reconstruction of the exterior of the old Samburu Railway station in Kenya. I documented the railway station in 2015 as part of the ongoing Save The Railway project to preserve Kenya’s antique railway stations. The station like many others of its time are today mostly abandoned and dilapidated. The reconstruction was done using reference photos taken during the project .
The 3D model is not an exact replica of the building and in some cases (where reference photos were lacking) I relied on my own personal interpretation and photos from other railway stations. Many stations along the Mombasa to Nairobi line, bear this same architecture; A detached station with the ticketing and staion master’s office, a signalling cabin and staff railway quarters behind.
