Sandstone Facade Sculpture3D Model
Scan by Christer Lindqvist. Retopology by Niclas Ekholm.
Facade sculpture of sandstone. The sculpture is partially damaged, the left half of the head is missinga and has been replaced by a sculpted filling of red earthenware. The sculpture is probably from the mid-17th century. It was found in connection with the demolition of a house at Kornhamnstorg in Gamla Stan (Old Town), Stockholm. It may originate from a former house in the same place, built in the 1640s, where it problaby was part of a stone portal.
The head has the inventory number SSM 2041 in the City Museum Collection.
