Sant’Angelo Muxaro “Tomb of the Prince” - Agrigento (Sicily) Along the sides of the city’s hill there are innumerable caves, the oldest dating back to thirteenth century BC: large necropolis of what was supposed to be a rich and important settlement. The largest and most suggestive protohistoric tomb of Sicily, with its approximately 9 m in diameter and 3.5 m in height, is the “Tomba del Principe”, consisting of a double room, with a domed vault (tholos) typical of similar mycenaean structures.
