Brazil. Rio Grande do Sul. The ruins of the archaeological site of São Miguel Arcanjo, better known as the ruins of São Miguel das Missões. The Guarani Jesuit Missions, as a system of cross-border cultural goods involving Brazil and Argentina, are composed of a set of five remaining archaeological sites of the villages deployed in territory originally occupied by indigenous peoples, during the process of evangelization promoted by the Society of Jesus in the colonies of the Spanish crown in America, during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. in December 1983, these remnants represent an important witness to the occupation of the territory and the cultural relations that were established between the native peoples, mostly the Guarani ethnic group, and European Jesuit missionaries.
