More model information

This model accompanies an article published in the open-access journal PLOS ONE on 26 April 2016 (http://bit.ly/1SqlQ8B), describing the skull and neck of the basal titanosaurian sauropod Sarmientosaurus musacchioi (MDT-PV 2) from the Upper Cretaceous Bajo Barreal Formation of Patagonia, Argentina. The article authors are Rubén Martínez, Matthew Lamanna, Fernando Novas, Ryan Ridgely, Gabriel Casal, Javier Martínez, Javier Vita, and Lawrence Witmer. 3D modeling of the skull was done by Ridgely, annotations by Witmer. Click https://skfb.ly/NPQp for a mobile-friendly version. See https://skfb.ly/MKLO for a Sketchfab of the semi-transparent skull with brain endocast visible. See https://skfb.ly/MKKH for a Sketchfab of the isolated brain endocast. This research was funded in part by U.S. National Science Foundation grants to Witmer and Ridgely.
