This and other pump housings needed to be scanned because the original design drawings from 1982 had been lost, and over time some craft changes had also been made to the housing that were not recorded anywhere.

To capture these changes and create new engineering drawings and a parametrically reconstructed 3D file, the customer decided to order a high-resolution scan of the housing with 0.1 mm accuracy for the body and 0.05 mm accuracy for the bolts and threads.

After the scan, we created the Solidworks parametric part and the technical drawing in a DXF file. From now on, the customer can make all the changes directly in CAD and (hopefully) will never lose the records again.
