Chess set carved from lime wood by Rubert Grießl, sacristan of Wildalpen (Styria). The game was presented as a gift to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of Count Hans Wilczek in 1898. The game pieces are portraits of Count Wilczek (king of the black pieces), the innkeeper of Wildalpen (king of the white pieces) and their respective entourages.
