Lednice Castle in South Moravia, Czech Republic, is one of the most beautiful examples of neo-Gothic architecture in Europe and part of the Lednice-Valtice UNESCO World Heritage Site. Originally a Gothic castle was built here in the 13th century, which was rebuilt several times over the centuries. In the 19th century, the Princes of Liechtenstein had the castle magnificently redesigned in the English neo-Gothic style. The castle impresses with its fairytale turrets, ornate facades and elegant interiors, which are richly decorated with wood carvings and stucco work.
The extensive castle park is another highlight: it stretches over 200 hectares and combines French gardens with romantic landscape elements. The minaret, the palm pavilion and the lake landscape are famous. Lednice Castle is a popular destination for tourists and impressively conveys the splendor of the aristocratic lifestyle of past centuries.
