More model informationThe The three-masted Schooner Dunderberg measured 186 feet in length, 33 feet in width, with an 18 foot depth. She was of typical construction for sailing the Great Lakes. One unique feature is that she had a hand-carved, ornate alligator figurehead with red-painted eyes that can still be seen today.
In August 1868 she was struck by anotehr ship EMPIRE STATE sending her to the bottom of Lake Huron in 130-155ft of water. It’s an incredible tech dive with anchors, deadeyes, artifacts and the picturesque figurehead on the long bowsprit.
