More model informationThe 130 ft Schooner Kyle Spangler built in 1856 sank in a collision with the Schooner Racine in 1860 off Presque Isle, MI, Lake Huron. It sits very intact with two masts still standing (only partially visible in model) and is a popular dive site. The Racine sank near False Presque Isle and was later salvaged. The aft cabins and ships wheel are extant on site. The damage on the bow is the visible result of the collision. The model was created from 1431 images shot with two different cameras doing one loop around the hull and one loop up and down the deck.
