More model informationBased on a concept by Adam Taylor (https://www.artstation.com/chromatinker), this project was a good one to exercise my hard-surface modeling muscles. I modeled it in as non-destructive of a workflow as I could, using plenty of booleans and bevel modifiers. For the smaller details on the surface (excluding the protruding metallic shapes), I had the textures do the heavy lifting so that I could keep the poly-count lower and also to keep it less-destructive. I also deviated from the concept a bit with texturing to give it bit of a different sense of age and use from what’s shown in the concept. I enjoyed this project and learned from the process as usual.
Modeled in Blender. Textured in Adobe 3D Substance Painter.
