Sci-fi Explosive Grenade

Here is one of the grenades I modeled based on the concept by Juan Novelletto. These grenandes were my first project working from concept art, which not only was very fun but also rather challenging. Not having various angles of the objects left some room for artistic interpretation. With the help of many, many references I was able to fill the areas I may have been unsure about. The process was like that of my other pieces. The high and low polys were done in 3DS Max, then baked and textured in Substance Painter. Rather than outright modeling everything, I took advantage of the various hard surface inserts provided by painter to replicate the more subtle details on each of the grenades.
