Here is another model done using one of Juan Novelletto’s concepts. This handgun pairs so nicely with the smoke grenade I modeled recently – I just had to model this one as well. Overall the modeling process went rather smoothly. The grip was a fun challenge. I had to incorporate some organic curves into an overall hard surface shape. Once much of the concept was modeled in Max, I again relied heavily on floaters and some normal map stamps to complete the high poly model. As for the low poly process, I’m happy with the result. I do however feel there is still much to learn regarding the disciple. Substance Painter really provides and enjoyable texturing environment. I started with few of the given smart materials to get a decent base for the gun. Then played around with smart mask and some hand painted adjustments. After several iterations, I feel the concept is finally represented well here. Concept - https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PXkJy
