My retrofuturistic take on personal transportation, a flying pod based on the (in)famous Scootacar.
I’m absolutely not into cars and I have no experience observing, researching or making them, so the project posed quite a challenge. Still, creating a vehicle was a lot of fun. There are surely some grave errors in terms of actual vehicular design (no tall person could fit in it, the metal chassis is too thick etc.) but I’m satisfied with the look.
Origially used for realistic Cycles render with volumetrics and caustics, the model had been made with no thought given to optimization whatsoever. For the Sketchfab upload I simplified the geometry to go under 100k tris, baked and packed some normals and used simple material setups, removing HQ roughness, ao and normal maps.
