There are 2 issues with exclusively ground-based capture: 1) angle of sensor (DSLR camera) relative to subject (buildings) means that ground surfaces (roads+pavements) are at glancing angle, so more reflective/shiny, less likely to be detected in software; 2) all surfaces which are hidden from view as pedestrian (e.g. roofs, window sills) are also absent from the final model. Compounding issue with pitched roofs is their angle relative to pedestrian (i.e. angled, so reflective/shiny, as with 1).
Both limitations - limited ground and roofs - are present here.
