Photogrammetry model of Edinburgh’s New Town generated from ~2300 photographs that were captured on a smartphone while traversing the area as a pedestrian.
Model is VR-ready*, that is, the model has been given an accurate scale and has a simple ground mesh for facilitating its being experienced as VR content through Sketchfab. (‘VR-ready’ in this context should not be understood to imply that the model is of production-level quality.) The VR player spawns slap bang in the middle of the area, that is, at the intersection of George Street and Frederick Street, facing the statue of Pitt, the player facing north (towards Queen Street, with Princes Street behind). * (In practical terms this model may be too heavy for VR in its current form, I’m probably going to have to reduce the polycount and texture size further and then reupload.)
