More model informationA prominent palaeorelief can be seen around Scott-Keltiejellet and Løyndjellet (foreground), where the thickness of the lava lows locally reaches about 400 m. The former valleys, like the one incised in Devonian red beds in the centre of the photo (below), show the highest number of lava lows. Today, the basalt lavas form the peaks and mountain plateaus due to their high resistance to erosion.
