More model informationAn unusual late Neolithic mushroom shaped sculpted stone with a chisel edge from Rinyo, Rousay, Orkney. This artefact is manufactred from a fine igneous rock with numerous void. Donated to the National Museum in 1937 by Walter G. Grant.
A similar artefact with a pointed end was found at Skara Brae (NMS X.HA 664).
