Museum Description: Ivory Inuit carving of a seal, identified as a hunting charm which would have been sewn to the hunter’s hat. Possibly brought home by a 19th century Orcadian whaler. (tail missing).

Notes: This was donated to the museum after it was found in the pocket of a coat donated to a local charity shop. Note the nubbin on the belly - could have been an attachment to something?
