A HQ drill core sample of a fossiliferous limestone containing numerous Crinoid Ossicles, one of which exhibits a geopetal “way-up” void fill structure at the centre of the Ossicle.

Geopetal structures are one of numerous types of sedimentary features that may be used to determine the younging direction of a sedimentary sequence and are exceptionally useful in unstratified sedimentary rocks which have endured deformational events which have lead to folding or overturned bedding.
