Bone: Right femur, patella, tibia Age: 45 Sex: Male
Pathology description
The bones of the right knee joint are ankylosed, with the joint fixed in extension by large vertical bony bridge. There is reactive bone formation around the joint, which becomes particularly gross and spicular in areas of tendon attachment on the patella and the proximal tibia (Ortner 2003, 222). Cloacae are visible in the lateral condyles of the femur and the tibia.
