Description: A Lherzolite is an ultrabasic igneous rock dominated by essential Olivine, clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene in equal proportions. Lherzolites are a peridotite and the main component of the upper mantle.
Essential minerals: olivine and pyroxenes (both clino- and ortho-).
Accessory minerals: plagioclase, spinel, garnet, ilmenite, chromite and magnetite.
