More model informationThis is a sheep embryo at Carnegie stages 15 - 16 (36 - 39 days old). Here you can see the body wall, and developing limb buds, as well as the umbilical cord and large central swelling that houses the developing liver and heart. Around the head, the pharyngeal arches are also visible.
These models were generated from a serially sectioned 10mm sheep embryo, from the University of Glasgow’s digitised collection. These are in 10µm thick, 1 in 6, H&E stained sections and were originally generated for use with light microscopes.
These models were generated as part of a dissertation project for the MSc Medical Visualisation and Human Anatomy programme (2019) by Keiran Tait.
