This skull belongs to an Ovis aries, more commonly known as the domesticated sheep. Domestic sheep can be found worldwide due to their association with humans. They are extremely versatile and are able to live in a variety of habitats ranging from mountain forests to desert biomes. Domestic sheep are believed to be descended from the mouflon (Ovis gmelini), a wild sheep native to the Caspian region.
