For this model, I used photogrammetry as the model was relatively small, and I was able to use the equipment that was available to me. Forexample, I used my mobile phone, and since I didn’t have a turntable, it was relatively easy to take multiple photos by physically moving around the object. In addition, I was able to photograph the shell on my capret at home which provide more static detail for the software to reference when matching up the pictures to crreate the model. The software I used was regard3D, and by walking through the tutorial, I was able to load the project pictures, compute matches, triangulate, densify a pointcloud and generate a surface. As I went through the triangualtion phase of the modelling, I was able to try a number of options and determine which option will allowed for all the “cameras to be calibrated” which meant the 3D positions and parameters were found using all the pictures.
