More model informationIn 1822, the first excavtion of a shipwreck in the Netherlands took place. The well known researcher C.J. Glavimans excavated a 16th century wreck which was found during the construction of a ditch. The whole ship was excavated and for research purposes 3 models were built. The original ship is not preserved, the only witnesses are the excavation plans and the models. Two models are in the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam) and one in the maritime museum of Rotterdam. This model has been made in collaboration of the Rijksmuseum and the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency.
